When a house becomes a Home.

Everything is now seeming to fall into place. We are starting on home innovations as I told you before, we got our living room almost completely done besides laying new laminate and refinishing the ceiling. Which those will be like a whole weekend project a piece. We are planning to lay the laminate all in one weekend, if we can. We debated on carpet but since Malakhi suffers from allergies we just decided that wood laminate floors would be best. Hopefully it will reduce his allergies, his medicine and inhalers. Since we got the living room done, I'm in love with the color. It's so Red, which is Chris' favorite color. The room is around 15x20 so we figured that 2 gallons of paint would be plenty, well you can said we were so wrong. We had to end up buying 2 more gallons! I wasn't happy. They guy at home depot told Chris when he picked up the 4th gallon that he could of saved us time and money by telling us to paint a gray primer then the red because red is one of the hardest colors to get to cover... Wish the first guy would have told us this. All in all, I'm beyond happy with the results!

Chris was off today which was a good thing because we were awaken at 5 am to Malakhi coughing so hard he threw up. He's had a cough since Saturday, we started up his albuterol inhaler and thought it was helping. I'm happy he is getting the mucus up but not happy that he has to feel sick with it. Plus he has a stomach bug right now, if he isn't better by tmw, it's to the doctor. I'm hoping for a speedy recovering and no one else to get it.

home innovations

We moved in August to a house that is technically ours.. NOT a rental, thank the Lord. Chris' dad graciously decided to to let us take over payments on his house. He knew we needed a place to raise a family and let the boys grow in. The house was to big for him on his own, and We can't thank him enough. Thats what FAMILY is. Well when we moved in it was a mess. We pulled up the carpet, due to Malakhi's allergies and there were real wood floors underneath, but of course they need refished, but we didn't have the time. The floors work for now but I can't wait to get new flooring. Everything will fall into place when it needs to.

We got some colors for our walls tonight.. Well for the living room, considering that its 2 shades of purple right now. Chris' dad liked it but I wasn't a fan. We decided to go with Red. I love warm colors. But I figured I would get to paint tonight but we didn't.. intead my handyman put up a new ceiling fan! He was so proud and so was I. He did it all by himself, well, with my help of course.. holding this, getting that.. and some complaining in between :)... what else is a woman for! haha. I'm in love with our new fan and it makes me so happy that we picked out something for our house and we put it up and figured it out on our own. Makes me feel like a big kid.. or should I say, Adult.. (that word freaks me out haha)

yes, there were like 9 BILLION holes I had to putty!! BOO!

oh, I can't wait to paint tomorrow!! yay!
